League Rules

Maximum strokes on any hole is double par. (i.e. 6 on par 3, 8 on par 4, 10 on par 5)
1 stroke penalty for hazard, lost, or unplayable lie.
Ball may be dropped from shoulder height anywhere on the line at which the ball entered the hazard, but no closer to the hole.
For unplayable lie, drop within 2 club lengths, no closer to the hole
For this league, Out Of Bounds shots are allowed to be treated as hazards and only incur a one stroke penalty plus distance. Under USGA rules, if you hit a ball out of bounds you are assessed a 1 stroke penalty and do not get the distance, and must rehit from where you just hit. We use this rule to speed up play and keep people from searching for balls for too long.
Winter Rules in effect. Ball may be picked up, cleaned and placed, if in the fairway of the hole being played.
Putts may be "given" if outcome of hole is already decided, or it is almost certain it will be made. Once a putt is given, it cannot be taken back and even if you putt it out and miss, it still counts. Give putts when its warrented to speed up pace of play.

Etiquette

DONT CHEAT! Count your own strokes, as well as keeping track of your opponents. Discrepencies should be resolved before the next hole is played, not the end of the round. It takes 30 seconds max to go over the hole again in your head. Don't get offended, its a gentlemans game and youre only cheating yourself.
Farthest from the hole hits first, but play "ready golf".
When on the green, do not walk through a players line of the putt.
Keep the chatter and noise to a minimum during a players setup and swing.
Put your cellphone on silent.
