Separating from the pack?
It took 6 weeks, but two teams have opened up a slight gap in the standings between the top and the middle of the pack. Team Wiemer/Devlin sit atop the standings with Team Mueller/Savage/Hanvey just a half point behind. Behind those two teams is a group of 5 within 2 points of eachother. Even the last place teams with 7 points are still just a 4-0 sweep away from vaulting up the standings page. If Dave Porter decides to show up one of these days, team Knittel/Sub might even have a chance.
Very good rounds out there, as 8 people beat up their handicaps on a very enjoyable night of golf. Leading the pack were Team Hoerner/Hopkins who shot 46 and 50, and both netted a 31. Three other players netted 33's; House(52), Blaine Martin(46) and Joey(51).
Nice work out there.
While it doesn't happen to often, the 'B' player in a group has jumped the incumbent 'A' player for the 2nd time this year. The first to do so was Knittel, but he managed to only hold on to 'A' status for one week over Porter. The second is House, who jumped her playing partner Katz this past week and will find herself matched up against Kurt instead of Glenn this week. Don't be surprised if you two are shuffling A and B the rest of the year.
The Elmwood Inn was packed again after golf, where they serve oranges with your quiche...and Mike Knittel fullfilled his first round obligations?? for all that were there. Well done sir. Instead of specifically picking someone this week, lets leave it up to a game of skill, followed by a game of chance. If you beat your handicap this week, you're clear. Which ever players do not match or beat their handicaps this week will be placed in a rock-paper-scissors bracket. Loser buys first round.
So let it be written. So let it be done.
Reminder, any good/bad/ugly or photos from a round, send them over or write them down on the back of the card before you hand them in.
Also, I added a few more links in the statistics page. You can see your past 6 rounds played, the individual points leaders, best gross shooters and best net shooters.
