Week 5 - Happy Memorial Day

The weather held up and it actually turned into a nice day of golf. In stark contrast to last week, the front played much easier and people were going low with their scores. 8 players beat their handicap this week, led by Sam "what-a-par!" Rabinovich, who bested his handicap by 5 strokes. Sam was +1 gross after 4 holes and beating everyone in the group straight up, draining three par putts in the first 4 holes. Nice playing Sam!

There were 3 chip ins for par that i know of tonight. Both myself and T Hahn (2) sank chips to save bogey. Not exactly stellar golf up to that point, but a chip in none the less.

In the Martin/Martin v Katz/House matchup, Bob rolled in a 25 footer for par on hole 5 that helped him win his match by one hole over Alison. Sadly, the lone highlight for Blaine appears to be a 270 yd drive on hole 8. Throwing a pair of 10's on the card on the par 5's didn't help his cause and he was taken down by Sara Katz by two holes. Nice shooting Katz???

While the course made a big deal about having ID cards for everyone, they have yet to look at mine or ask for it. They've stopped using the iPad they were using the first week. So much for going high tech. Some things are fine just the way they were with a starter and pen and paper.

Enjoy the long weekend and we will see everyone next week. Hopefully they decide to cut the rough over the weekend so there's no need to search 5 minutes for a ball 10 yards off the fairway.
