I don't know what it is about the back nine this year, but our league doesn't like going low with their scores. The front has been much more willing to field the low scores. It didn't take long in this round (2 holes), before my playing partner was asking his opponent if he wanted to play volleyball instead of golf on Thursdays. It wouldn't be fair if i didn't pick on Lee, who all but gave up golf forever after posting 12 over his handicap, 56. Lee, dont quit yet, were in first place.
Only 4 people beat their handicaps this week, led by Matt Devlin, who carded a personal best 45(32). The other 3 (Wiemer/Weinblatt/Eliasz) bested their caps by 1 stroke each.
The one highlight reported on the day, came from Glenn Harvey. Glenn managed to save an honest 8 on the hole by chipping to within 4 inches on hole 14, and tapping in his putt. Note: it looks like Kurt reported this "highlight".
Four players will see their handicaps dropping a stroke for next week. Chalk it up to consistency.
Schaefer - 6 to 5, Devlin - 13 to 12, Weinblatt - 18 to 17, Irving - 13 to 12.
No animals were hit today. Although, a doe decided to run in front of Bob Martin on hole #2 duing his tee shot. Unphased, Bob piped one down the middle, well clear of the deer. In my head, i was really hoping he would hit it though. Maybe next week.
If anyone has highlights from their round, please let me know after the round or note them on your card before you hand it in. Also, pictures are always welcome too.
